12 YouTube Videos For Real Estate Agents

When you are trying to figure out what YouTube videos for real estate agents it can seem overwhelming. Are real estate agents really generating leads for YouTube? Yes we are! To answer that question. What content should you be creating as a real estate agent on youtube is a common question I get asked by other real estate agents when we start talking about if real estate agents should be on YouTube. It doesn’t matter what business you have you should be on YouTube. Every business I have ever owned doesn’t matter what it is I have been on YouTube.

Why YouTube For Real Estate Agents?

Well this is a great question. Every agent should be on YouTube because where does everyone go to search for things when they want to figure out where to go or how to do something? The internet of course. Google is the number one search engine still to this day but number two is YouTube. YouTube is owned by Google so when someone searches for something a lot of time Google will put video results right under the paid ads. So if someone searches for moving to Clearwater Beach, or Condos for sale Clearwater Beach the paid ads will come up first but right under that will be videos about Clearwater Beach or videos about moving to Clearwater Beach. 

Another example is when someone searches for say a certain neighborhood like condos for sale at Sandpearl Clearwater Beach again paid ads will come up first but if there are any videos about the Sandpearl those will come up right underneath the paid ads usually.

What YouTube Videos Should I create?

Well, it is all about knowing your avatar. If you have ever taken a marketing course or research any kind of marketing eventually you will here know your avatar. Really what that means is to know your ideal client. Make a list of all their pain points and the things they might be searching for. Then do a little research and see exactly what they are looking for using sites like ask the public, or semrush to see what they are searching for.

I deal a lot with people that are looking for second homes or looking to purchase an Airbnb. Basically, I deal a lot with investors, and thats what I like so I have switched a lot of my content to be geared toward more investors. So when someone searches something about buying an investment property in Clearwater Beach Florida my Florida YouTube Channel will come up in the search results.

How to target sellers with YouTube Ads

Finding sellers in this market can be rather difficult. That is why I created this video below where I walk you through how you can use YouTube Ads to find sellers. Like with any ad it all has to do with the ad copy, ad creative, the audiences, and, the targeting.

YouTube Ad Copy

Once the ad creative has done it’s job by getting their attention then it is up to the ad copy to pull them in. You want to hit their pain points in the copy. Speak to them and if you know your avatar then you know their pain points.

The youtube ad creative obviously needs to be a video and I have seen them everywhere from a minute to 4 minutes long. You want to keep it under 5 minutes. If you have a long video you need to keep it engaging and keep their attention. People ask how long the video should be and I always tell them as long as it needs to be to get the information across. Depending on how you have your ad set up after they watch 30 seconds of it you are going to get charged.

This is one thing that really differentiates from Facebook ads. You are able to target people based on if they are in the market to purchase a home or not. The second video you will want to make is about the cost of living in “input your city” You will go over the cost of living in the city you are a real estate agent. You might want to get creative with this one and go over the cost of groceries or the cost of gas or the cost of different private schools in the area.

3rd YouTube Video

The third video you will want to create is the special things the city has going on. Take for instance if they have a farmers market and they have a carnival every year, the 4th of July fireworks, try to get footage of these things and take people around to see what it is like at these events. These are good events so t get B-roll for your other videos.

the forth video, you will want to create is 6 steps to moving to “input your city name” One of those steps is going to be finding a local agent that can be your eyes on the ground. Be sure to say you would be willing to help them and give them a way to contact you for an interview to make sure you are a good match.

The fifth video to create is a video about local businesses in the area. Be sure to interview businesses with large social media followings. Great businesses to interview is restaurants because people are always looking for places to eat. So when they search for places to eat your video may come up and you will get views and start building a relationship.

4 Tips for Real Estate Agents on YouTube

More goes into your videos than just creating them and uploading them I want you to pay attention to these 4 things to make sure your video doesn’t flop once you upload it. It took me a long time to figure this out. Leveraging video as a real estate agent is so important that you need to start a YouTube channel if you haven’t already. My goal by the end of the video is so you can start crushing it on YouTube. These are just the basics and a starting point but it is going to get you moving in the right direction.

YouTube Titles

You want to make sure the title of your YouTube video has a title with key phrases in it. TubeBuddy and VidIQ are great for this you will see me mention both of these programs frequently because you need one or the other. I would start with VidIQ if I was you because you get more with the FREE version than you do with TubeBuddy and if you are on a budget free is always nice.

YouTube Description

The description of the YouTube video needs to have key phrases in it as well of what people are searching for. and you can use things like vid IQ https://vidiq.com/, or Tubebuddy https://tubebuddy.com  Keywords Everywhere https://keywordseverywhere.com/ to figure out what people are really searching for you in your market. There is another program out there called TubeBuddy which is also a good tool to use when you are doing your research and uploading your videos.

YouTube Tags

The tags help youtube decide what your video is about and again vidIQ or Tubebuddy https://tubebuddy.com are going to be great for this. They both will help you find the tags that are most appropriate for your video because as a real estate agent it isn’t easy to know everything. We already have to wear so many different hats that it is good to have a little help from programs such as these.

YouTube Thumbnails

Your thumbnail and a lot of real estate agents outsource their thumbnail on Fiverr.com but I encourage you to make them at first. It isn’t that hard when you use programs like Picmonkey or Canva https://canva.com both are great programs and you will hear every YouTuber talk about both. I enjoy Picmonkey https://picmonkey.com more because I think it is easier to use and you can do more with the text. If you really are good with design programs you might what to upgrade to Photoshop or Illustrator both can do more but they are both a little more difficult to use.

The rule of thumb when it comes to your YouTube thumbnail is to make sure you have a picture of yourself on the Thumbnail usually you want it to take up at least a 1/3 of the photo and then have big text. What seems to be working now is only to have 3 to 4 words on the Thumbnail and make the text big. You want to use colors that are going to make yours stand out from everyone else. A good thing to do is see what videos are ranking high for that key phrase and use it as inspiration.
