eXp Realty was a big move for us after only being with berkshire hathaway for only 6 months and not knowing to much
After only being with Berkshire Hathaway for only 3 months I realized there had to be a better brokerage out there for me. I don’t want anyone reading this to think Berkshire Hathaway Home Services is a bad company. I just needed and wanted more than what they had to offer at the time. I stumbled upon eXp Realty at a showing. When I went home and did some research on it I realized this is the company for me. Whenever I would show a home I would ask what brokerage are you with if I would run into another agent there and ask them things about it. None of them had what eXp realty was able to offer me.
I remember when I went to my broker and let her know I was going to be moving to eXp Realty soon. She asked why. I was honest with her. These were the questions I asked her.
1. Can you offer me stock in the company? I thought since Warren Buffet owned it that they probably could, but the answer was no. eXp could.
2. There cap for domestic teams (husband and wife team) was only $16,000 at Berkshire it was 21k if I wasn’t on a team it would of been 18k I think. Here is the thing though every cap is different and every office is different at eXp Realty everyone is on a level playing field. Everyone is at a 16k Cap except if you are on an organized team. 3. I was promised a mentor since I started with Berkshire and I never received one after asking multiple times. At eXp Realty I was given a mentor the first day and there is over 40+ of live training weekly not to mention our group does an additional 3 hours of training.
4. With eXp Realty I would only have one set of fees vs two set of fees at Berkshire because we were a husband and wife team.
